Gay Marriage

On LJ there has been a meme going around that reads:
"Copy this sentence into your livejournal if you're in a heterosexual marriage, and you don't want it "protected" by the bigots who think that gay marriage hurts it somehow."

Basically read as: "I'm not gay and actually am/have been/intend to be married but support gay marriages because there is no valid reason not to nor do I feel it would devalue or hurt my marriage as a heterosexual." but with inflammatory wording that implies people who want to ban it are idiots/the reasons most people give are retarded. I personally adore this version and it's word choices. I've been chomping at the bit to post a rant on this subject on this blog and this just lite my fire. So here is me getting my flame retardant groove on.


I totally posted it, and why not? And Yes, I've been married so it isn't, 'you'll change your mind later' or 'you only support it because you are gay' crap that inevitably floats out of some idiot's mouth.

Seriously, WHAT exactly are your reasons to restrict marriage as man/woman? What is being protected? How will marriage suffer/be hurt if Gay Marriages became legal all over? I'd REALLY like to know.


Is it to protect procreation: then why allow those on birth control, sterile/barren, with vasectomies/hysterectomies, etc to get married? After all they can no more have children than homosexuals can.

Sexual practices: More heterosexuals have oral and anal sex than homosexuals do. Butt plugs/beads aren't just for homosexual men you know. Plenty of husbands like a little give and/or take of the forbidden zone. Is it okay if the male is heterosexual and receives a strap-on or is that too gay? How about gives when the partner is female? I've seen some idiots actually say that it is manly if they take a girl anally since it is all aggressive male behavior if done with a girl yet in the same breath, say it doesn't matter if the partner is female or male when they receive. To them the guy is gay even if they have a female partner. It is completely illogical. How is it all gay whether penis or dildo yet the owner of the butt differentiates homo from hetero?
Not to mention, what then is wrong with Lesbians? How about male homosexuals that practice hand jobs and blow jobs exclusively? Some aren't having any penetrative sex at all. Is that a requirement for marriage, sex of the penetrative kind? Because I bet there are plenty of married couples that stop having sex or focus on oral and are allowed to stay married.

Religion or moral basis: Pagans, and Swappers, and Cuckolds, and swingers, and threesomes, and those that don't fit your little definitions of proper marriage are getting married ALL the time.


So WHAT are you really "protecting" marriage from again? Other than the above, what is the difference between man/woman and man/man or woman/woman marriage? Looks to me like it is already too late and yet you aren't doing a thing to really "protect" it by trying to change the status quo. I mean gay marriage is not legal everywhere yet all of the above is. Where are the protesters and the pickets to change the current laws to really "protect" marriage. Why not abolish marriage as a legal definition all together? Everyone has civil unions, and let the churches deal with marriage. No legal status or considerations made for marriage; it can be in "God's" eyes only, no taxes differences, no special considerations in pay or benefits or rights. THAT would be the proper way to "protect" marriage and not be such an illogical moron looking like they want to be selfish and keep certain rights for themselves while denying it to others. Give up the legal marriage all together and THEN you may be on to something. Either protect the ideal and give up your rights and legal status, or let others share in those rights. But limiting it you become elitist and bigoted.

Wanting your cake and eating it too (while trying to horde it) is really wrong, especially when the cake is already being shared with people you don't want to share with.

Bible, SEX and what not...

I guess I'll start with the Bible to give new people a generalization of how I view things.
I don't get Christians. Never have never will. Not only do you have to believe Jesus Christ was God/Son of, you have to worship and respect that God. I mean, this IS the same God who lied, confused and even changed his mind. You can't even defend him with the human "He didn't know any better" defense that most bigots and racists that grow from their folly have. Most humans can blame their beliefs and behaviors on how they were raised and educated but God has no such logical reasoning.
I mean the message delivered by Jesus can be considered noble and all that, but to make him more than a man means to connect him to a divinity that can't even relate/recall what he made first. He is the same divinity that lied to Adam and Eve and punished them when they discovered that he lied (Eat from the tree and you will surely die - they lived/discovered he lied - got punished for it). The same divinity that made women property (father to husband, rape made the FATHER the victim and women had to be paid for and even forced to marry the rapist in some cases), allowed/encouraged slavery, and revenge.
Even if you like the message Jesus gave; equality, turn the other cheek instead of getting revenge, etc you still end up with a God that changed his stance on things. You still have to believe, worship and respect the OT God. After all God can't gain enlightenment so what gives? I respect a racist more when they LEARN to see things differently because at least they weren't enlightened in the beginning. They GREW from their existence and learned better but if God is Alpha and Omega, there is NO room TO grow.
Christians further confuse me by being all over the place. JW's don't believe in blood transfusions but others do. Amish don't believe in letting women wear men's clothing and men are the heads of households. Some Christian females will put a napkin on their head when praying at the table just too keep up that abhorrent tradition of subjugation to man symbolism. Most Christians will not blink at women wearing pants or taking charge yet still rant and rave about gays or abortion. If one says the Bible is flawed because it is God's words but was written down by/influenced by/translated by man (and therefore Slavery is immoral and women in power is moral after all) then what is flawed and what is sacrosanct? How can you defend some parts as the Word of God and hand wave away others as man's influence tainting it or grow beyond it?
At least be consistent.
I mean if life begins at conception no matter what, what is the difference between aborting a rape victim's conception, an ectopic pregnancy termination and the abortion of a prostitute. How can supporting rape abortions be anything other than really saying you just want to punish sex and since rape isn't voluntary sex she gets a waver while the promiscuous one doesn't? After all, the rape victim isn't the only one with feelings and in danger of psychological problems due to pregnancy so using that defense is complete bull, at least admit you want to prevent abortion because you want to punish those that have sex and get off your high horse. You either want to punish the ones who choose to have sex by forcing parenthood on her or forcing motherhood (Women who are birth mothers STILL suffer so saying she can just put it up for adoption is completely stupid and more than likely will damage/affect her more than an abortion ever could. After all the unknown is worse than the known.) And for those who dislike abortion even in cases of rape, the whole it isn't the babies fault how it came into the world and it is God's will then how is ectopic pregnancies any different? After all isn't it God's will to place the pregnancy where both will die? Isn't saving the mother's life contrary to God's plan? If you can alter the plan in one instance then why freak when someone else wants to in another? And if it is God plan for that ectopic pregnancy to die, like a natural miscarriage, then wouldn't He plan for abortion too? Or do you consider God Galactic-ally Stupid?

The Weirder the Better

I'm one of those type that will take her opinion and argue it to death then take the carcass and beat it some more. I also have views that are non-traditional and I LIKE to inflate them and make people go... Is she nutz?

This blog will hopefully be where I print out my tirades and get flame to roast my marshmallows on.
